Greenopolis - A Green Online Community Posted on February 22nd
If you spend anytime at all online you will probably be familiar with the plethora of online social networks such as myspace, facebook, and bebo (there are There are networks for sharing; art - redbubble, video - youtube, photos - flickr, budgeting - websabe. Of course there are communities for those more eco inclined, however a new player has emerged greenopolis. Although still in beta (operational but still testing phase) Greenopolis has a rapidly growing membership (currently over 1200), all of whom are measuring their lifestyle choices for rewards.
Points may even be earned by rating or purchasing products and services at our Galleria, exchanging free items on Free’N, taking online courses at eGreenU, or playing games at the Playground. Soon, you may even earn Greenopolis points by performing offline actions such as recycling at local centers or volunteering your time.

It’s sort of like a group of landholders benchmarking and sharing information but online and for a largely urban and US community. Who knows what the future of landcare might look like. One thing is for sure the 2008 State Landcare Conference in Monto will be a great place to share ideas, to compare results and share lessons, hope to see you there!
