Brisbane conference shuttle
Through the generous support of last year’s conference hosts, Pioneer Catchment and Landcare, a charter bus will transport delegates between Brisbane and Monto. The bus will depart Brisbane on Sunday 21 September at approximately 8.00 am, and arrive in Monto approximately 5.00 pm. The bus will collect passengers from Brisbane city and other major locations heading north to Gympie. The bus will stop for leg stretching, toilet visits and meal breaks and will have plenty of room for all your conference gear (including linen if you’re staying in tent city). The bus will return from Monto on Thursday 25 September, departing at approximately 8.00 am and arriving Brisbane approximately 4.00 pm.

The bus is strictly limited to 46 passengers and seats will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Please help us make this conference as sustainable as possible by choosing this as your travel option. The cost is only $40 per person for the return trip.

Air travel
QantasLink operates daily flights to Thangool (near Biloela), which is approximately 90 kilometres from Monto. As this is a busy mining centre, we recommend you book flights as soon as possible to secure the cheapest airfares and guarantee a seat. Or even better, why not consider the low cost charter bus from Brisbane.

Brisbane to Monto
Sunday 21 September - QF2396, departing Brisbane 2.25 pm and arriving Thangool 3.40 pm. A conference shuttle will meet this flight to transport delegates to Monto, however please contact us to confirm your arrival details.

Monday 22 September - QF2390, departing Brisbane 5.50 am, arriving Thangool 7.05 am. A conference shuttle will meet this flight to transport delegates to Monto, however please contact us to confirm your arrival details.

Monto to Brisbane
Thursday 25 September - QF2393 departs Thangool 9.20 am, arrives Brisbane 10.35 am. A conference shuttle will transport delegates from Monto to the Thangool airport. Please notify us of your travel plans to confirm your place.

Coming by car
The drive from Brisbane to Monto takes approximately 6 hours on sealed roads. Take the Bruce Highway heading north to Gympie. Approximately 15 minutes north of Gympie, take the left hand exit to Kilkivan, which is approximately 40 kilometres away. Follow the signs from Kilkivan to Tansy (approximately 30 kilometres) where you take a right hand turn onto the A3.

Follow the A3, passing through Ban Ban Springs until you reach Gayndah. At Gayndah, take a right hand turn (following the A3) to Mundubbera but do not pass through town - follow signs to Monto, passing through Eidsvold and Mulgildie.
